I thought it would help if I crated a list of what the book / album types really mean. I have TRIED to keep them in alphabetical order.
CARD RANGES
SCAVENGERS - One off pieces.
LAYERS - Layers and textures built up
TEXT FOCUS - The text is the star!
BOLD CORNER - Strong accent on the corner
FINE LINES - Linear design
SQUARES - Build up with squares of different sizes
Accordion fold album -

A very useful little book. Just enough photos to remember a special day without having loads of space left over. Decorate the back - or use it for more photos.
Blind book -
Pleated book with a cord running through both ends. Fold up th the small size of the 'slat', can be hung from the cord to display the text/photos.
Boast books - Also Granny's books -
Any album small enough to slip into your bag to show off your baby - kids - pets at any time, anywhere.
Book rings -
This is a ring that holds the book together - if the description say 'book ring' you can open it to add more pages.
Covered/Wrapped -
There is a very slight difference in these terms. Covered means that the paper covering the card stops at the edges. Wrapped means that the paper covering the card continues around the fold and over laps the back.
Envelope books -
An album made up of folded envelopes. You secure half of the flap to create a pocket, make a tag to fit - and put your photos both on the fronts of the envelopes and tuck them inside.
You can use any size envelope and any quantity.
Exploding box -
OK, so it's a box really - but you fill it with photos and who says books have to be flat? Overlapping layers make the pages - usually 3 layers, but can be more.
FAN BOOK
A series of strips joined at one end so they can 'fan' out.
You can use any number of strips - any size - but they must all be long and thin, and the same size: otherwise it is not a 'fan'.
FAT BOOK - Any book that is 4" x 4" is called a 'fat' book.
Hexagon meander -
Based around the hexagon shape. pages fold over each other to closed scape.
Map book -
Matchbook album -
A tiny album that works like the old fashioned book of matches. Makes an ideal boast book. Can be square or rectangle, any size as long as it's fairly small.
Maze book -
This is a 12" (has to be 12") square of light weight card folded in such a way as to make an accordion page book. It is set into book covers with a ribbon hinge.
Star book -
This looks like an accordion fold book but with graduating inner pages. It is hinged so that it folds back to back and makes a star shape.
Square meander -
Tag book - This is a set of pages held by a book ring. Usually fairly small but can be any shape, size or thickness. The name comes from it originally being made from linking up office labels to make albums.
Triangle meander -
Based around the triangle shape. Pages fold over each other to closed shape. Untie one side and it works like a book – untie both sides and it folds flat.
Piano hinge -
The album can be any size - the feature is the hinge. The edges are cut and threaded onto a wooded hinge pin, so it looks like the hinge of a piano lid. Wooden pins are bound at the top and bottom to build the book. Pages are worked in pairs so it has to have an even number of pages.
Windmill meander - Cut in a windmill shape, tabs fold up.
Album fully open, showing Fold flaps over Fold to middle Closed
Windmill pattern.
Wrapped/Covered - there is a very slight difference in these terms. Wrapped means that the paper covering the card continues around the fold and over laps the back. Covered means that the paper covering the card stops at the edges.
