Crafter's Corner BRASS STENCILS - DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES (July 26, 2008)
TAKE ONE BRASS STENCIL:-
One fairly plain brass stencil (papermainia)
and here is what you can do:- - -
Stencil through it with ink and a brush (or chalk - or draw with pen, pencil, felt pen) with several similar shades to create an overall background.
Use embossing paste - translucent/clear with glitter or over inked design - or coloured paste, by itself or with glitter (tiny sprinkle) to create a border line.
Dry emboss on a contrasting colour and chalk through the stencil to create a topper. Add sequins and gems for variety, depth and texture.
The finished card.
You may not want to use all the elements together - but it does show just how versatile a brass stencil can be. Especially when you add in all the colours of glitter, ink, pens etc, you already have.
