Crafter's Corner CARD WITH 2 POCKETS (January 02, 2009)
This is a useful fold for making money cards - or to attach to a scrapbook page to hold journaling texts. There is a really clever trick to it - I love clever tricks!
This is what you are making
You will need a sheet of good quality double sides paper / light card. Don't use textured stuff because it cracks!
The method is the same for all sizes - but the size card you start with will give you different sized cards at the end.
12" x 12" will make a 6" card
8" x 8" will make a 4" card
6" x 6" will make a 3" card
Crease you card into 4, then unfold.
Fold the top right corner in half to the back.
Cut along the bottom centre line to the middle.
Fold about 1/4 of the bottom left corner to the front.
now the tricky part:
- fold section 1 up wards on to section 2.
- fold both sections over onto the top of section 3.
- fold the lot down wards on top of section 4
Now you have a card with 2 pockets in the front - clever eh?
I usually put a brad into the bottom left corner to hold all the layers flat. The front section opens as a proper card so you can add a greeting if you want to send money.
