Crafter's Corner SCRAPBOOK PAGE - PAPER PIECES WITH 1 LARGE PHOTO (April 07, 2010)
I am really into different sized pieces of co-ordinating papers layered over each other at the moment. It seems to be cropping up loads on my cards. I will give you the basic 'how to' and you can have a play yourself - it's great for rummaging in the scraps box
For this layout you will need
1 x background card
4 x A5 pattern papers
Card to matt the photo
Large photo - larger the better
Double sided tape
Various stickers Embellishments - use up some left overs
1. Stick one whole sheet of A5 about 2cm in and down on the left hand side. I use my design ruler for all this sort of work as you can get a really good line without much fuss.
TIP - use the darkest / heavest pattern at the back - it will help 'anchor' your design
2. Use another whole sheet to go across the botom left - but in a little more - you want to show as much of the corners as you can.
TIP - use the next darkest / heavest pattern
3. Cut one of the sheets in half lenghtwise, and add it to the bottom. About 2cm in from the right and 6cm up from the bottom.
4. Cut another sheet in half shortways and add it to the pile at the top.
TIP - exact measurements are not necessery, but you want as much of the pattern each side to show. You can put all the papers on first and have a tinker about to see what it will look like before you finally stick them all down
5. Matt and add your photo - again add it to the stack so that you can see loads of corners.
6. Add sticker and embellishments to finish off. Keep the line theme going by using lots of straight line peel offs
This is one I did with dark papers for the School photo - different sizes of papers used here - but still lots of corners showing. All I did was to add a journling tag and a jumbo brad
