High back box

(October 20, 2011)
This has been designed for the Hougie board - so if you use a score-pal or score with a trimmer you will have to experiment

This project makes a high back box from one sheet of A4 card

so pick a pretty colour A4 sheet and - -

F-HIGH BACK BOX 01
Put the  long side to the edge of the board and score  at 6.5cm and 14.5cm
F-HIGH BACK BOX 02
Turn top to left - and score -
- solid lines at 17cm and 23.5cm
- just the side columns at 15cm and 25cm - these will make the tabs to secure the box - so leave the centre plain.
If you do the long lines first - you can see where the short lines will go
F-HIGH BACK BOX 03
Cut out all the shaded areas
F-HIGH BACK BOX 04
You will have something like this
F-HIGH BACK BOX 05
Crease on all the lines.
Now you can see how your box will fit together - secure the tabs under the front
F-HIGH BACK BOX 06
To make the back detail - mark 1cm in on the bottom of the long back panel
F-HIGH BACK BOX 07
Line up your mark along one of the grooves to the crease at the top of the panel - and score
l F-HIGH BACK BOX 08
You can either trim off this section
F-HIGH BACK BOX 09
- or you can fold it back to get 'wings' at the front

F-HIGH BACK BOX 10
TIP - I drew down one of the channels with a permanent marker - so I can see very easily if I have lined up the points I want to score along the same channel
