Essays & General Comments 07-11-10 CHRISTMAS BURNOUT (November 10, 2007)
I have a couple of big (hopefully) Christmas sales coming up so I have rather over done it on the Christmas card front. Could not really help it - once I had an idea I thought 'what if'?, and then 'could I'? And before I could help it I was off again.
I will put some 'how to' in that section so you can see the various stages - that means I will have to do ANOTHER one! Why don't I think of these things and then I would have the pickies ready!
I must have punched and painted thousands of holly leaves and berries in the past couple of weeks. If they sell well and I have to do another batch I think I will tear my hair out! I treated myself to a holly punch and a snowflake punch in the last Do-Crafts offer - don't mind things that are only a couple of quid-ies. Reckon the poor little holly punch has earned it's keep already.
I have an idea for the snowflake punch - but to be honest I am a bit sick of Christmas!
I suppose Janet started very early in her craft classes (it's her favourite season), then Barbra started a few, and then I took it further: but now I want it to stop (please). Craft stuff seemed to hit the shelves in September, and although I resisted, eventually I caved. Now I have overdone it!
I am sooo desperate to get back to some serious leaning and proper scribing again. I promised myself I would have a go at copperplate scrips this winter but all I have managed in the past few weeks has been 'Happy Christmas', and the few scenic psalm cards that I have been experimenting with. Haven't made a new style album for at least 3 months. Haven't scribed up a decent text since - - - can't remember - - might be summer scrap booking. Ohhh, I am dreaming of hot tropical papers bright orange, yellows, hot red and bright greens. Colour - just what you need on dreary, dark, damp, winter afternoons.
I will do you a 'how to' of the collage cards in the next week. And please wish me lots of luck with my sales coming up - I love it all really.
