Essays & General Comments 07-11-19 GREAT TREATS (November 19, 2007)
I have had such a lovely day - and I thought I would share it with you!
Just look at this - cute or what - and dreaming and snuffling!!
OK - so why has today been such a good day?
well I will tell you. . . . .
I had promised myself that I would go to The Paper Mill Shop and stock up on loose card. It takes me a bit of working up to, because you have to do all this 'deciding' stuff, and I am not good at 'spur of the moment' things like that. Croppers (where the shop is) is about 3 miles out of town - where as my usual craft shop is about 1 mile round the corner (walk it sometimes), so I have to choose to go there. And also, (ssh) it is not a patch on The Paper Warehouse, so I know I won't be getting much else.
Anyway, I was geared up - and ready to go for it. I wanted to get one of the £6.99 pick and mix boxes (well 2 really - 1 of card and 1 of paper), to bolster up my colours. Did you know that they do a bigger size box? It takes just over 4 times the smaller box and is £19.99? Now that WAS such fun! Took me a while - but I filled a HUGE box with 3/4 card and 1/4 paper. I went along all the little cubby holes and had 2 or 3 of each colour/type, or if I really liked it, a bit more. The last couple of inches seemed to last forever! I kept asking the old goat if that was it - bit more - bit more - bit more - oh for heaven's sake!
I now have enough card to last me for at least a year - and - I saved a good £8. I had a great time sorting it in to my colour blocks so I can find it easily. Playing with your stash is half the fun!
So - what did I do this afternoon? I made my first star album!
Cover - earth tones paper, matted on copper pearl Inside - brown theme with centre layer a marble effect, brown organza ribbon for bow.
So what do you think?
I was wondering about making up a kit with the instructions and the card ready cut, based on a colour theme.
I am going to make up a few more for the upcoming Christmas fairs - it is such a lovely, unusual album!
Early night for me, and hot milk to look forward to.
Tomorrow I have to sign off the accounts for a local project that I have been treasurer for - but that's another day.
Today has been a purr-fect day!
